Well Said Wednesday: "Gang aft a-gley” is so 2020
I'm thinking that Scottish poet Robert Burns would have been a great friend to us in 2020. After all, he's the one who said,
“The best laid schemes o' mice an' men / gang aft a-gley.”
More commonly known as
“The best laid plans of mice and men / often go awry."
Raise your hand if any of your plans went awry in 2020.
(Yes, I am raising my hand!)
In fact, so much of 2020 was about unplanning. I have the canceled plane tickets and erased calendar events to prove it.
I even paused my quarterly Build Your Content Plan workshops, even though they were already virtual.
It just wasn't advisable to help stressed-out business owners map out 3-, 6- or even a year's worth of content that had a good chance of hitting the wrong notes at the wrong time.
But here's the thing:
Our people still need to hear from us.
We still need our content to add value, not noise.
So I created a re-imagined and 2020-ized the Build Your Content Plan Workshop to include updated tools and new ways of thinking about what outreach means *now.*
It's happening December 16*.
This two-hour block of time is all about:
Elevating your outreach with a doable, focused content plan
Connecting with your audiences in a more sustainable, authentic way
Learning a better way to approach content and get a stash of tools to help you out
Never going dark on your audiences and leave them wondering if you’re still in business
Abandoning time-wasting, random content for good
Get all the details here -- including how to register.

"Gang aft a-gley” is so 2020. Let's get our 2021 outreach off to a re-calibrated, re-set and re-engaged start.
“Well Said Wednesday” is a blog by Barbara Govednik, Founder, Content Coach & Message Strategist of 4.23 Communication. It’s published every other Wednesday…ish.
Well Said Wednesday: Too Much, Too Little, What's "Just Right" Content?
Is there an absolute number of emails or posts that is "Just Right?" No. As I tell my content planning clients, the best outreach volume is the one
you can maintain consistently
that doesn't let people forget about you or that they signed up for your list
that gives you room for added outreach wildcards like launches or tie ins
that doesn't annoy and come off as bombardment
that supports building trust and building the conversation with the people you're reaching out to
